Redundancy Defined

Darren McFadden on his rookie season in Oakland:
“I felt like overall it was a good year without the injuries,” McFadden said. “Other than the injuries I thought it was a good year for me overall.”
This makes D-Mac sound pretty foolish, but I blame the sportswriter for not editing the quote.

I'll let Chris know you're not too pleased with the redundant quote.

At least he didn't say, "You know."

Derek,

I wondered if you knew the guy.

I know that people can give you really bad quotes if you take them word for word, but sometimes a little creative editing needs to occur to make people sound less foolish.

LFL,

Ha, maybe he did, and that part got edited out.

Ha, Chris is a great reporter, but anything that comes out of McFadden's mouth, you don't know what you're going to get, lol.

Derek,

At least he didn’t start talking about “that wood” again.
